SLV Little League Home Run Derby 2020

SLV Little league will once again be hosting the fun filled Home Run derby to help our league raise the money it needs to provide a great season for our young athletes. This event is continually a highlight each and every season, and we strongly encourage all players to participate. The success of this event relies on each player reaching out to their network of friends and family to solicit donations made through the SLV Home Run Derby website.

With some new and exciting rule changes for 2020, the Home Run Derby includes and showcases the talents of each and every player registered in our league. T-ball and A ball divisions will both hit for distance off of a tee. The farthest hit balls will be marked by volunteers, and will eventually come up with the top 3 farthest hit in each division. Our AA Division will be pitched to by one of our volunteer coaches while AAA and Majors will be hitting off of a pitching machine. Each of these divisions will have appropriate distances pre-determined to make home runs achievable. There will be medals awarded to the top three winners in all divisions. Best of all, the top 10 fundraisers will receive 4 Oakland A's voucher tickets for the 2020 MLB season as well as one of our amazing prizes such as a Nintendo Switch with a Game, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk passes and a hitting lesson from Paradigm Sports in Santa Cruz. The Full List of prizes can be viewed on the Awards and Prizes tab on this sites main page.

It costs our league close to $300 per player; to make up the difference between our $165 registration fee, we rely on fundraising. The money we raise through the Home Run Derby helps the League provide clean and safe fields, training for umpires, and safety equipment throughout the season. It's a fun event, but also an important fundraiser for San Lorenzo Valley Little League. Our goal this year is to raise $16,000. To achieve this goal, the league would have to receive $60 per player. You would be amazed at how easy this is to do by reaching out to people who would be happy to support a strong community, volunteer driven league.
